Round Rock’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan and How You Can Get Involved

Serving as a policy guide and framework for land use decisions far into the future, the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Round Rock 2030, is requesting its third round of public feedback via the plan’s public engagement tool. Questions are based on input received from the in-person quadrant meetings in February and March, and the outreach effort garnered hundreds of responses from local residents.

By participating in Round Rock 2030, the City’s residents have the chance to influence policy that will guide the Round Rock’s decisions regarding housing, commercial development, public facilities, and more.

Councilwoman Tammy Young stressed the importance of input from as many residents as possible, and Mayor Craig Morgan agreed, stating that community feedback is crucial.

“I know some people are concerned that we don’t listen to it, but I assure you we do,” Morgan said of public feedback. “It makes for a much better plan when it involves the citizenry.”

All told, the Comprehensive Plan will review how Round Rock has changed over the past ten years, and it will create a vision for what Round Rock might look like in the year 2030. The planning process is expected to last for 1.5 years, with an official adoption by the City Council in the spring of 2020.
